Brussels snow globes

Brussels is the capital of Belgium.  As the seat of the European Union, Brussels is known as the “capital of Europe.”

The base seems to show the entrance to the Parc Du Cinquantenaire which was Planned by King Leopold in the 19th century, The park contains large monuments including the Triumphal Arch.

These globes celebrate the  Grand Place - Grote Markt, This is considered one of the most beautiful medieval squares in Europe. Many historic buildings dating from the 17th century surround the square. The city's Town Hall - Hôtel de Ville,  was erected  between 1401 and 1455 and is the square's only remaining medieval building.

Manneken Pis is a bronze fountain sculpture  depicting a  a naked little boy urinating into the fountain's basin. The statue has been repeatedly stolen or damaged throughout its history. Since 1965, a replica has been displayed with the original kept at the Brussels City Museum. The original is mentioned in the mid-15th century. It was  redesigned to its present shape in 1619.  The figure has been regularly dressed up since the 17th century and it now has around one thousand different costumes.

Built in 1958 as part of the World Fair in Brussels, The Atomium is the most popular tourist attraction in Brussels. It is a museum, art centre and  cultural destination. It's basically in the design of a stainless steel cell, that  represents an iron crystal magnified 165 billion times. The structure contains stairs, escalators and an elevator (in the central, vertical tube) to allow people to access the spheres, these contain exhibit areas and public spaces. The top sphere has a restaurant with a great view of Brussels.

The view to and from Mini Europe, which is a miniature park opened in 1989 next to the Atomium. It has over 350 miniatures representing the most important landmarks from 80 cities in the European Union. The Town Hall of Brussels, has 300 statues which were all sculpted by hand,

Bruges  is the capital  of the province of West Flanders. It has many canals and is sometimes referred to as the Venice of the North. The city center is a great example of a medieval historic settlement.
